Who runs this, and why it is built this way

GTM is operated by Ranked Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria under RC 9522220. It exists because the hard part of African early-stage investing is not finding companies. It is checking them.

The problem we are actually solving

An investor looking at an early-stage African company faces the same task every time: extract about fifteen facts from a document that was designed to persuade rather than to inform, and then work out which of those facts are true. The first half is tedious. The second half is expensive, and it is why so many good companies never get a serious look.

Structuring the data solves the tedious half. Anyone can do that, and a lot of people are trying. The half that is hard to copy is checking, because checking requires people, and people in the right places.

Where the verification comes from

Ranked Technologies already runs the infrastructure that makes checking possible. Our testing business operates a panel of identity-verified and bank-verified people across Nigeria who complete paid tasks and report what they find first-hand. Our directory business collects first-party information about Nigerian businesses.

That is the part of this platform that cannot be reproduced by writing better prompts. A verified person can be sent to an address, use a product, and tell you what was actually there. No model can do that, and no amount of data scraping substitutes for it.

It also sets the boundary of what we will claim. We verify things we can actually check, and every check on a profile says which method was used and on what date. Where we have not checked something, it says founder-stated, and it stays that way until somebody looks.

Why there is no AI in the score

This is the decision we get asked about most, usually by people who assume it is a limitation.

A score presented as a measurement should be one. If the number were a language model's impression with a decimal point on it, then the first investor who scored a company they already knew, disagreed with the result, and asked how it was calculated would stop trusting the platform entirely, and would tell people. There is no recovering from that in a market this small.

So the rubric is fixed arithmetic over declared fields and performed checks, it is published in full, and the published version is generated from the scoring code itself so the two cannot drift apart. The same profile always produces the same number. Anyone can read the rule behind any point.

What we will not do

We do not recommend investments. We do not rank companies by quality. We do not broker capital or take a position in any round. The score measures evidence against a rubric, and the match measures agreement with criteria an investor typed in themselves. Neither is advice.

We do not report an investor's browsing to founders. Interest is shown as counts, and an investor is named only if they choose to request an introduction.

We do not publish statistics we cannot evidence. There are no invented user counts, success rates or testimonials anywhere on this site, and there will not be.
