Terms of use

The agreement between you and us. Short, in plain words, and written so the important limits are visible rather than buried.

1. Who you are agreeing with

GTM at gtm.ng is operated by Ranked Technologies Ltd (RC 9522220), a company registered in Nigeria. “We” and “us” mean that company. “You” means you, and where you are using this on behalf of a company, it means that company and you confirm you may agree on its behalf.

By creating an account or using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. The most important thing in this document

Nothing on GTM is investment advice. The GTM Score measures how completely and how strongly a company has evidenced itself against a published, fixed rubric. The match percentage measures agreement with criteria an investor typed in themselves.

Neither is a recommendation, a rating of quality, a prediction of success, a valuation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell securities. We are not licensed investment advisers, brokers or dealers, we take no position in any round, and we receive no commission on any investment.

Investors remain entirely responsible for their own due diligence. Founders remain entirely responsible for the accuracy of what they publish.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate details, and keep your password to yourself.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person, one account. Do not share logins or impersonate anyone.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Tell us at support@ranked.ng if you think your account is compromised.

4. If you are a founder

What you put in is yours

You keep ownership of everything you enter: your company information, your figures, your deck and any documents you link. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service, which is to store it, display it to you, score it, and show it to investors once you choose to list.

Listing is your choice

Your profile is private by default. It becomes visible to verified investors only when you list it, and you can stop being listed at any time.

What you say must be true

You must not enter figures you know to be false. Investors make decisions on this. Knowingly publishing false financial or traction information is a serious matter and we will remove a profile that does it.

5. If you are an investor

  • Company information here is confidential. Use it to assess the company, not to compete with it, not to share it onward, and not to build a list you sell.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-export or automate collection of company data.
  • A founder-stated figure is a claim, not a verified fact. Read the Passport before relying on anything.
  • Your identity is not disclosed to founders unless you request an introduction, and your browsing is reported to them only as counts.

6. What verification means, and what it does not

A check marked verified means a named check was performed on a stated date by a stated method, and the method is shown. It is a statement about one fact at one moment.

It is not an endorsement of the company, a guarantee that the fact remains true, a warranty of any kind, or a substitute for your own diligence. What each check covers sets out the limits of each one explicitly.

Where a check is paid for, you are paying for the check to be performed, never for its outcome. A check that comes back negative is recorded and shown as failed.

7. The free tools

The calculators are provided free and without warranty. They do arithmetic on numbers you type. They cannot see your business, do not know your market, and cannot tell you whether to raise or what to charge. If an input is wrong the answer will be wrong.

Do not rely on them alone for a decision that matters. Take advice from someone who knows your situation.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law, or use the service to help someone else break it.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to breach, probe or overload the service.
  • Scrape, crawl for bulk extraction, or resell access.
  • Impersonate a company, an investor or a person.
  • Post anything defamatory, or anything you do not have the right to post.

9. Our content

The guides, glossary, rubric, calculators and the rest of the site are ours. You may read, quote and link to them freely, including in your own work, with attribution. You may not republish them wholesale or present them as your own.

10. Availability

We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something broke. Features may change. We will not remove something you depend on without saying so where we reasonably can.

11. Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for investment losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or decisions taken on the basis of anything on this site, whether by a founder or an investor.

Where we are found liable despite that, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free account is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like by writing to support@ranked.ng. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented.

On closure your profile stops being listed and your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Before anyone goes to court, write to support@ranked.ng. Most things are solvable in an email, and we would rather solve them that way.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and if a change materially affects your rights we will tell account holders by email rather than relying on you to re-read the page.

These terms are our own contract wording, not legal advice to you.
