Size your market from the bottom up
Count the buyers. Multiply by a real price. The result is smaller than the top-down number and worth far more, because someone can check it.

- Serviceable market (SAM)

Put the source of the buyer count on the slide. A market size with a source attached is read as an estimate; the same number without one is read as a claim. If you cannot source the buyer count, the honest move is to narrow the definition until you can.

Where to find a buyer count in Nigeria
- Corporate Affairs Commission registrations, for how many entities of a type exist.
- Sector regulators publish licensed operator lists: NCC, CBN, NAFDAC, state health boards.
- National Bureau of Statistics releases, for establishment counts by sector.
- Trade associations, which often publish member counts.
Whichever you use, put the source on the slide. There is deliberately no “percentage of a global market” input in this tool, because that method proves nothing and every investor has seen it a thousand times.
Put these numbers where an investor can read them
The GTM profile holds them as structured fields, scores what you have against a published rubric, and shows which blank one costs you the most.
